Created to help students develop their passion for live theatre, the CAST Summer Student Workshop will enroll students aged 8 to 18 for a two week course in rehearsing and performing a live play. Workshop participants will learn all the performance basics while actually preparing for a real show! Students will have first-hand experience with acting, costumes, make-up, sound, lighting, warm-ups, singing, and even some dancing!
The number of CAST Summer Student Workshop participants will be limited, and roles will be assigned after a short audition process.
The workshop fee is $50 per participant. Scholarships are available!
AUDITIONS will be at the CAST Theatre (920 Nichols Ave).
The Summer Student Workshop will be held at Van Vleck High School Auditorium.
Auditions are April 26th (2pm to 4pm) or April 27th (4pm to 6pm)
All audition participants will sing "Freak Flag" in a group and do a cold reading of a scene during auditions.
Additionally, those who wish to be considered for a lead singing role must sing a solo during their audition.
The workshop will be: 1pm-4pm on June 1-5 & 8-12, 2026
The performances will be: June 12 (7pm), June 13 (7pm) & June 14 (2pm)
